Batik. 12+ years. £8

An introduction to batik techniques. Working on cotton lawn, students will experiment by applying hot wax with different tools and will use a sequence of dyes to complete a piece of vibrant, original work. Teacher: Sarah Tucker – Thursday & Saturday and Angela Lenman – Friday & Sunday.
Create a Corsage using Vintage Techniques. 16+ years. £8

Make a beautiful fabric flower brooch using traditional rag rug techniques. Yarn is hooked in loops through hessian backing then surrounded with fabric petals. Back your flower with felt, sew on a fastening, then wear your unique brooch for everyone to admire. Teacher: Jenni Stuart-Anderson – Creative Breaks.
Felt to Stitch. 16+ years. £8

Using fine prefelts, wool and silk fibres we will create richly textured but fine felt, perfect for hand or machine stitching. Teacher: Barbara Weeks – Missenden Abbey.
Needle Felted Flowers. 16 + years. £8

Make a pin of flowers and leaves in vibrant or subtle shades of needle-felted woollen fibre, and embellish them with buttons, netting, ribbons and stitches to produce a truly unique design. Teacher: Marilyn Bradbury.
Prog a Shaggy Mat. 16 + years. £8
Session Times: Thursday – Sessions 1 & 2 and Sunday – Session 3
Progging is a traditional rag rug technique which you can use to recycle your vintage fabric. Try progging with half a peg like granny did, then work faster with a bodger. Start a seat mat or a sample wall art. Teacher: Jenni Stuart-Anderson – Creative Breaks.
Silk Painting & Marbling. 10 + years. £8
Session Times: Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday Sessions 1, 2 & 3
Fabric paints will be used to paint a picture on silk fabric. You will also be able to try marbling on paper, perhaps producing a frame for the painting. Teacher: Julie Heaton.
