Viva Flamenco is an authentic Flamenco Dance Company and four of their artistes will perform various dance styles and songs from Andalucia in Southern Spain.
Juan Ramirez has performed world-wide, including the Gulf States, Europe, the USA and the Caribbean. He also performs fusion shows with Indian musicians and dancers, mixing Kathak (classical Indian dance) and Flamenco.
Based in London, he has numerous TV and radio performances to his credit, both in the UK and abroad. He is also a guest artist on many recordings with other musicians and pop stars including Vanessa Mae, Marc Almond and Gary Barlow. He has taught Flamenco guitar for several years and gives master classes, workshops and private tuition, both in the UK, and in Spain.
Early in her professional career, Juani Garcia worked with the Paco Mundo Company in Madrid, Mallorca, Malaga and Portugal. She has since performed worldwide and extensively throughout the UK.
As a choreographer, performer and guest teacher, Juani’s work has taken her to Norway, Trinidad and Tobago and on extensive trips to India and the USA. Juani has appeared at the Royal Festival and Queen Elizabeth Halls and the Barbican Theatre, and in concert with Sade.
Juani recently featured in a dance drama, ‘El Caballo de Espana’, a lavish production combining the Feria horses of Seville with flamenco dancing. She has also taken part in the mega-production of ‘Carmen’ in Birmingham and Germany. This year she has been invited to Canada and the USA for fusion shows performing ‘Kathak’, the classical Indian dance style.
Manuel de la Malena is one of Spain’s best flamenco singers. He is from a famous gipsy family of flamenco artistes from Jerez de la Frontera. He has performed all over the world including America and several times in Japan and has recorded several albums and also numerous television programmes.
Lola Rueda is a dancer and singer from Gerona in Catalunya and has performed worldwide with Viva Flamenco for several years. She has also worked with other companies and, also, Latin American musicians, having an extensive repertoire in many different styles.
