How to Get There
Mexican Art
Long renowned as a centre for folk art production, the mountainous southern state of Oaxaca, Mexico has a growing reputation for the fine arts, drawing its strength from native Indian culture, myths and legends. As one poet put it, “a certain magic surrealism tends to depict a theme of the appearance in our history of another time and place”.
Whether your interest is in painting, sculpture, jewellery, weaving, tin design or paper and box design, you are sure to be splashed by the vivid spirited work presented. The marquee will be decorated with papel picado and photographic illustrations of the region; a festival of colour, a short sojourn in Mexico in the Oxfordshire countryside.
