Congratulations to our 2015 Art & Design Student Competition Winners
Following a final selection meeting on 30.4.15, we are delighted to announce that students Jan Waterston, Chia-Shan Lee and Freddie Davies will be demonstrating at Art in Action this year in the Newcomers Tent.
The standard of entries was extremely high and selection was no easy process.
Chia-Shen will be demonstrating working with paper to produce wonderfully expressive pieces, Jan is a highly skilled woodworker specialising in furniture and Freddie has a distinctive style as a watercolourist.
The competition has been run in conjunction with furniture designers Wesley-Barrell; Juliette Barrell was one of the six judges.
Other judges were Sculptor Simon Buchanan, the Organiser of Art in Action; textile artist Rosalind Wyatt; Steve Pill, editor of Artists and Illustrators magazine; Nathan Ford, visual artist and winner of our Best of the Best prize at Art in Action 2014 and ceramicist Christopher Taylor who has also demonstrated at the show.
In addition to being invited to demonstrate at the event, each of the winners will be presented with a prize of £500 at the Demonstrators’ Dinner on 18th July.
