Paula will be demonstrating hand building techniques, pinch coil and slab, experimenting with surface textures and finishes, using a variety of clay bodies. The Cornish landscape and its history, rugged coastline and moody weather are the main sources of inspiration. Fairly realistic observational drawings are made on-site. Back in the studio the drawings are put away and the pieces evolve from the memory of the place. She never makes a drawing of what she is about to make.
