Rebecca Fraser throws and slip casts porcelain vessels which are simple in form, creating what she sees as a blank canvas for the application of pattern and mark making. Her drawings of natural forms inspire a mixture of gestural and more controlled lines. The subtle colour range is applied using coloured slip and glaze, and derives from these drawings.
It is important to her that the surface pattern is an integral part of the form; this is achieved using a variety of decorative techniques such as inlay, underglaze/onglaze and decal application.
The wares she creates are versatile in function as well as being decorative and can be displayed in groups or as individual pieces.
