Zoë has been working with glass for the last sixteen years, both Nationally and Internationally, as a glass artist creating jewellery lighting and interior sighted works.
After working for many renowned makers Zoë then set up her own practice in 2007 and went on to win a number or prestigious prizes and commissions such as the Pearsons glass prize for best use of flame working in 2008 and then winning the craft and design select award silver in 2011, also completing a lighting commission for a Vivian Westwood boutique.
Zoë’s most recent works concentrate on her fascination with small changes creating larger differences to a later state. Often unnoticed and unseen, interaction that then creates a different view of perception.
Circular forms have always fascinated her, repeating itself, ending itself, reverting back to the point of beginning, the beauty of symmetry within such a simple form that can create magnification and optical illusion . Glass is awakened by light and as it changes it comes alive, revealing its inherent beauty and what lies beyond, its transparency posing the question what are we able to reveal and what should remain unknown.
