17 – Pin-Pointed: Kate Wells

 ‘where the hand goes, there the eye goes…’

This is a textiles/mixed media course exploring the simple power of attention at the point of the needle, pin, pencil and fingertip. Beginning with experimental paperwork, drawing and collage and developing samples into hand-stitch, pinning, joining and seams, the course will be playful but directed and focused with periods of quiet, mindful practice.

The aim will be to connect paperwork with stitched work through a shared vocabulary of line drawing, joining, taking apart, layering, and repairing. Simple ‘being there’ at the point of the work will lead to creating a collection of samples and possibilities.

Refreshments

Tea and coffee will be provided each day on arrival and in the afternoon.  Lunch – students can either bring their own lunch or at Waterperry there are delicious lunches at the Tea Shop and in London there are various local eateries.

If we have to cancel your course before it starts we will give you a full refund or you can choose to transfer to another advertised course if spaces are available. If you cancel your booking up to 21 days before the course begins, and do not chose to transfer to another advertised course you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel after that period the booking is non-refundable and non-transferable. However, if we are able to fill the vacant place we will give you a 50% refund
