15 – Landscape Painting in Oils: Judith Gardner

Walking and drawing from observation with a sketchbook (to include thumbnail sketches).  Painting small studies ‘in situ’ using a limited palette with emphasis on different compositions and shapes.

 Looking and understanding colour mixing within the landscape.  Considering elements within the landscape including atmosphere, aerial perspective, effects of light, handling of buildings, trees, etc., will be covered.  You can then select a part of the landscape which is of interest and develop paintings from that subject.  If the weather is wet, foliage and flowers will be considered as a subject to paint as well as sketches.

Refreshments

Tea and coffee will be provided each day on arrival and in the afternoon.  Lunch – students can either bring their own lunch or at Waterperry there are delicious lunches at the Tea Shop and in London there are various local eateries.

If you cancel your booking up to 21 days before the course begins, and do not chose to transfer to another advertised course you will receive a 50% refund.
