18 – Portrait Sculpture: clay: Edward Murray

The human head is one of the most fascinating of subjects.  The course offers the opportunity of a sustained study of the head.  We will be working from the model to produce a life size portrait head in clay.  There will be step by step demonstrations by the tutor.  We will look at and discuss images from a selection of ‘master portraits’ and the final day will include the chance to learn how to hollow work for firing.
