Around the Year - Waterperry Gallery, Gardens and Tea Shop
Whatever time of year you choose to visit Waterperry Gardens, you can be sure of a wonderful day out in a unique environment.
The eight acres of landscaped ornamental gardens have delighted gardeners for more than seventy five years, and our formal and rose gardens, river walk, lily canal and classical herbaceous border are an inspiration for both novices, and the more experienced.
The Waterperry Gallery, housed in a sympathetically converted barn provides visitors with beautiful, affordable works of art, whether your taste is for prints, paintings, ceramics, jewellery or any finely crafted pieces - many of them by popular Art in Action demonstrators.
The Long Barn is a shoppers delight too, offering inspirational outdoor living ideas and gifts, as well as a selection of garden furniture. And our garden shop offers a wide range of gardening goods and sundries, as well as gift ideas for the green - and not so green-fingered. You'll also find a huge range of apples and juice for sale in season - all grown in our 5 acres of apple and pear orchards.
Most plants on sale at Waterperry are grown in our on site nurseries, and friendly, knowledgeable staff are always available to provide advice, information and ideas.
Waterperry also boasts a Country Life Museum, featuring agricultural and horticultural implements from a bygone era, and a beautiful Saxon Church which contains its original 13th century stained glass windows, and lancets. Both attractions are free and are a must-see during your visit.
There's a full programme of events throughout the year, from horticultural themed weekends like Snowdrop and Apple Weekends, to open air theatre during the height of the summer in the stunning setting of our ornamental garden.
But no visit to Waterperry is complete without a trip to the Pear Tree Teashop. Our staff pride themselves in cooking everything from fresh ingredients, and offer a mouth-watering selection of home made hot and cold meals. We're also home to some of the best fresh-baked cakes in the county!
