Who can Apply – Demonstrators

To be eligible to apply as a Demonstrator you must fulfill the following criteria:

  • You must be able to demonstrate your chosen art or craft and engage with the public so they can gain real insight into the skills and procedures necessary in creating your work.
  • The work shown at the event must be created by yourself.
  • Your art/craft must generate an income for you.

Please note: If you are selected to demonstrate at Art in Action 2016, there is no fee but we will take 30% commission on all sales made as a result of the event.

 


 

How to Apply to Demonstrate in 2016

Applications for 2016 are now being accepted and the deadline is 4th December 2015.

Please send your applications to: [email protected] and include the following:

  • Website Address
  • A minimum of 6 images of your work
  • Dates and details of where you may be exhibiting your work in the near future (i.e. shows, exhibitions, open studios, etc)
  • A brief description about yourself and your work and the section to which you wish to apply. (i.e. Beekeeping, Calligraphy, Ceramics, Glass, Illustration, International Art, Metalwork & Jewellery, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Textiles, Woodwork)

*If your website is up to date and contains all the above information in a clear and easy to use way this can be used as your application.*

* Please note that you are welcome to apply to more than one demonstrating section and the market. However, application to the Newcomers Tent is by discretion of heads of other sections only.

 


 

Who can Apply – Market Vendor

Before applying as Market Vendor for Art in Action 2016 it is important you read our criteria:

  • The Market Tent at Art in Action is a place for designer makers or “crafters” to sell their products. (We do not consider people who work in the fine arts e.g. Painting)
  • The work shown at the event must be made by the vendor present at Art in Action
  • It is important that you have enough stock for 4 days’ worth of sales

 


 

How to Apply to be a Market Vendor in 2016

APPLICATIONS WINDOW: Applications to the Market for the 2016 event will be accepted between August 2015 and January 10th 2016.

Please note that although selections are not made on a first come first serve basis, selections are nevertheless made during the applications period, so early applications are encouraged. Also, whilst we do consider direct applications via the website, participants are also selected by private invitation. There are limited places available in each medium in the Market, so please do not be put off in the future if you are not successful this year.

  • A current price list in pounds sterling
  • Dates and details of where you may be exhibiting your work in the near future (i.e. shows, exhibitions, open studios, etc)
  • A brief description about yourself and your work

The cost for hiring a stall in Art in Action 2015 was as follows: £70 per foot frontage / £55 per electrical socket / £20 per table. These prices may be adjusted for 2016.
