For Art in Action 2011, she will be presenting a new collection, ‘Fashioned with Stitch’. An installation of machine embroidered lace textiles, inspired by garden themes, will form the context for her demonstrations. The intricate art of creating the machine made lace, using water-soluble fabrics, will explore the journey from original sketches to finished works. Displays of her botanical sketches will reflect the intrinsic details of plants that influence the directions for her embroidered textiles. The finished works will reference fashion forms, exploring shape and texture in diverse ways, and experiment with the challenges of scale as observed in gardens.
