Route from M40 for cars and other vehicles below 3 tonnes
Get off at Jcn 8A and take A418 to Thame. After 3.5 miles turn left at Mill Rd (to Shabbington). After 3 miles turn left onto Clifden Road (towards Waterperry). Continue to Art in Action.
Secondary route from M40 for vehicles over 3 tonnes
FROM LONDON
Get off at Jcn 8A and take A418 (Oxford). At London Road turn right towards Wheatley. Follow signs to Art in Action.
FROM OXFORD
Take A40 towards Wheatley. Get off at Wheatley exit. Follow signs to Art in Action. If caught in delays, you may like to consider these alternatives:
- If on M40 northbound, get off at Jcn 7, take A329 to Thame, then take first left onto London Road (A40), after 1.5 miles turn right onto A418 to Thame joining the normal route to Art in Action.
- If on M40 southbound, get off at Jcn 8A and instead of taking primary route onto A418 (Thame) follow signs for Oxford A418 (A40) then at corner with London Rd turn right towards Wheatley and follow secondary route

When you get off the coach
All coaches travel along the M40 and stop at Thornhill Park and Ride where you need to alight. From there cross the A40 by the underpass, turn right towards London and walk about 45 meters to the bus stop. Here you can either take the free courtesy Art in Action Mini-Bus or Car straight to the event or, if no courtesy service is available take the Arriva 280 bus (every 30 minutes) to Wheatley and alight at the King’s Arms Bus Stop. The King’s Arms car park is the pick up point for the free courtesy car service to Art in Action. HOW TO GET TO ART IN ACTION FROM HADDENHAM & THAME PARKWAY STATION
From the station forecourt take the 280 Arriva Bus (every 30 min) to Wheatley alighting at The Triangle bus stop near The King’s Arms where a free courtesy car service will be provided.
HOW TO GET TO ART IN ACTION FROM OXFORD STATION
From stop R7 in Frideswide Square (about 100 yards from the station) take the 280 Arriva Bus (every 30 min) to Wheatley alighting at the Triangle bus stop near The King’s Arms where a free Art in Action courtesy car will be provided. - Must be pre-booked and pre-paid. Coach: minimum 25 people. Minibus: 10 to 24 people. Parking by prior arrangement only.
- Ticket reductions: Adults £15, Senior Citizens £12, Student/JSA £8, Child 5 -17 £5.

Disabled Access
- Disabled toilet facilities are available.
- Electric scooters or manual wheelchairs for hire by Event Mobility. To reserve an electric scooter or manual wheelchair go to www.eventmobility.org.uk or call them on 01386 725391 and request a booking form. Please be aware that advance bookings cannot be made by phone.
- Vehicles with Blue Disability Badges are parked closer to the event (follow the signs), however you will be parking in a field and ground conditions may vary.
Dogs
Well-behaved dogs are allowed on a short lead. Please remove any dog litter. Please avoid areas where there are crowds. Dogs are not to be left in cars.
Food and Drink
Throughout the day at Art in Action there is a wonderful choice of delicious food and beverages. Much of the produce is freshly prepared and where practical we source ingredients locally.
Main Refreshment Marquee
Situated on the spacious lawn next to the Pear Tree Teashop, the main refreshment marquee is open for morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea. A large selection of sandwiches, salads, savouries, handmade cakes and scones.
The Teashop
The Teashop is open all year round at Waterperry. During Art in Action the Teashop will be serving morning coffees, cakes, scones, sandwiches and savouries. Food is freshly prepared on the premises.
Specialist Foods
Around the site you will find a wide selection of high quality food and drink including the Welcome Cafe to greet you on arrival, Belgian Waffles and Pancakes (watch them being made), ethnic meals, baguettes, ice cream, sorbets, and a variety of cold drinks including Waterperry Apple Juice, made entirely on the estate from apples grown in Waterperry orchards. Not to be missed!
Rendezvous Bar and Pimms Bar
On the the lawn next to the Teashop is the Rendezous Bar with a superb stock of fine wines, champagne and beer, and on the same lawn you can visit the Pimms bar and enjoy a Pimms made the old fashioned way (by hand using fresh ingredients including borage flowers).
