25 – Light, Mood and Atmosphere II: Judith Gardner
We are often inspired by something we see in nature, but how do we move from there to making a painting? Continuing the theme of light, mood and atmosphere this course will consider how to develop small sketchbook studies into finished oil paintings. Making full use of the beautiful gardens and river at Waterperry we will consider how to make sketchbook studies, what information we need, what to include and what not. From there the tutor will lead you through the stages needed to bring your sketch to final fruition of a ‘finished’ painting. Students will learn the advantage of working on toned grounds and the value of close harmonies of colour. The course will include demonstrations by the tutor.
