24 – Light, Mood and Atmosphere I: Judith Gardner

This first course will concentrate on the wonderful effects of light, mood and atmosphere found in skies against trees.  Using a viewfinder to select small sections of landscape we will discover how to find directional rhythmic shapes within the rectangle to create dynamic compositions.  We will also consider colour, the value of a limited palette and the advantages of working on toned/coloured grounds.  We will complete several paintings.  The course includes demonstrations from the tutor.

Refreshments

Tea and coffee will be provided each day on arrival and in the afternoon.  Lunch – students can either bring their own lunch or at Waterperry there are delicious lunches at the Tea Shop and in London there are various local eateries.

If you cancel your booking up to 21 days before the course begins, and do not chose to transfer to another advertised course you will receive a 50% refund.
