23 – Landscapes in Watercolour: Valerie Petts

Morning sessions will focus on exploring and practising some fundamentals

COLOUR AND TONE  –  using monochrome  –  principle of complementary colours and other simple colour systems

TECHNIQUES  –  looking at the very different ways watercolour may be used  –  various types of washes  –  use of dry brush and masking fluid  –  the value of different papers

COMPOSITION  –  basic principles to help towards a well-planned and harmonious painting  –  some work on perspective

There will be plenty of opportunity to consider individual needs and interests and also to share our experiences.  The afternoon sessions will be spent working outside.

Refreshments

Tea and coffee will be provided each day on arrival and in the afternoon.  Lunch – students can either bring their own lunch or at Waterperry there are delicious lunches at the Tea Shop and in London there are various local eateries.

If we have to cancel your course before it starts we will give you a full refund or you can choose to transfer to another advertised course if spaces are available. If you cancel your booking up to 21 days before the course begins, and do not chose to transfer to another advertised course you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel after that period the booking is non-refundable and non-transferable. However, if we are able to fill the vacant place we will give you a 50% refund
